Sheepsquatch — Creed Centaurus Impression

Tobacco opens it, dry and lit rather than sweet, struck through with cinnamon, cardamom, and pink pepper in a spice blast that doesn't hold back. The heart softens considerably — sandalwood turns creamy under jasmine, heliotrope, and geranium, with patchouli grounding it. From there it settles into Bourbon vanilla, benzoin, tolu balsam, tonka bean, and ambroxan, a warm woody-amber base with dark honeyed depth that lasts. Sheepsquatch is the warmest fragrance in this collection and the most straightforwardly wearable, a spiced amber that reads expensive without working at it.

We chose Sheepsquatch for West Virginia's strangest modern haint, and the only one in this collection that fought back. Sightings clustered in Boone County through the mid-1990s: bear-sized, covered in dirty white wool, ram's horns, a long pointed snout, and a smell like sulfur. In 1994 a group of women driving an icy road near the TNT area outside Point Pleasant watched it step into their headlights and freeze. Two children in Boone County saw it rear up on its hind legs that same year and run off snapping limbs as it went. In 1995 a couple pulled over to get a better look at a white shape sitting in a roadside ditch. It came out of the ditch at their car. They got home and found deep scratches in the paint.
