Orange blossom over amber, and not much else in the way — which is the point. It opens clean and white-floral, almost soapy in the good way, then warms without ever getting heavy. Peru balsam gives the drydown a soft resinous sweetness that sits close to the skin. Restrained, expensive-smelling, easy to wear.

Starr Mountain runs along the Tellico in Monroe County, inside the Cherokee National Forest. Get up there after dark, away from everything, and you understand why somebody named a mountain for what you can see from it.
