Cherohala Skyway — Louis Vuitton Sur la Route Impression

Calabrian bergamot, lemon, and pink pepper open bright and sharp, a clean citrus rush with a peppery edge. Fresh-cut grass, hedione, nutmeg, and cardamom fill the heart with something greener and stranger — a dry hay-like quality that gives the fragrance its signature — before leather, cedar, Peru balsam, and patchouli settle into a warm, faintly animalic base. Cherohala Skyway is fresh and green with unexpected depth, a citrus fragrance that resolves into leather rather than fading into musk.

We chose Cherohala Skyway because Sur la Route is the most distinctive of Louis Vuitton's masculine citrus offerings and the least imitated. The grass-and-leather pairing is genuinely unusual: bright and outdoorsy up top, dry and supple underneath. At extrait strength the green notes hold far longer, the leather gains presence, and the balsamic base carries well past the point where the original fades — its most common criticism, and the one our concentration addresses directly.
