Clean, in the good way. Orange zest, apple and apricot on top, then a soft white middle of iris, magnolia, jasmine and narcissus, with rice giving it a dry, powdery finish like starch on a pressed shirt. Musk and cedar keep it close to the skin.
Creed first released Love in White in 2005 and reworked it in 2024. The house says its ingredients are hand-picked from five continents. Ours follows the current version.
We named it for sarvis, the mountain name for serviceberry, a tree whose white flowers open in April and May, before or just as the leaves come out. Nobody agrees on where the name came from. One story goes back to the days of circuit-riding preachers: when snow shut the roads all winter, the funerals waited for spring, and they were held when the sarvis was in bloom. The berries make a good pie.
