Whiskey opens it, boozy and warm, before cinnamon and coriander bring the spice. The base is where it lives: tobacco and oud over incense, sandalwood, and patchouli, with benzoin and vanilla rounding the edges and cedar keeping it dry. Dark and smoky — a cold-weather fragrance.

Olivier Gillotin created Tobacco Oud for Tom Ford in 2013. Greeneville was the capital of the State of Franklin in the 1780s and the hometown of President Andrew Johnson, who opened a tailor shop there in 1826.
