Dragon's Tooth is a 35-foot spire of Tuscarora quartzite on top of Cove Mountain near Catawba, Virginia. It's the southern anchor of what hikers call Virginia's Triple Crown, and the last stretch to reach it is a hands-and-feet scramble up bare rock. The Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club estimates as many as 30,000 people make the climb every year.
