Copperhead

Honey first, and plenty of it, with plum and peach running through like fruit cooked down in syrup. The tobacco is there from the first spray, but it's the sweet kind: pipe tobacco, not an ashtray. Smoke and amber settle in underneath and stay late. Big, sticky, and sweet, and it lasts.

François Demachy created Tobacolor for Dior's private collection in 2021, building it around the idea of a cold hookah: tobacco smoke wrapped in fruit and honey instead of leather.

We named it for the copperhead, one of only two venomous snakes among the 23 species in the Smokies. It keeps to the low and middle elevations, wears dark hourglass bands over copper, and in winter has been known to den up with timber rattlers. Good-looking and best given some room. Same goes for how many sprays you use.
