Haywood — Byredo Bal d'Afrique Impression

Bergamot and buchu open it bright and a little herbal, with African marigold adding a green, slightly bitter snap. Violet and cyclamen turn the heart soft and powdery, and vetiver and cedar dry it down to a smooth, clean wood. It reads as a fresh fragrance, but there's more going on underneath than it lets on.

Haywood County was formed in 1808 and named for John Haywood, North Carolina's state treasurer for forty years. Jérôme Epinette composed Bal d'Afrique for Byredo in 2009.
