Gatlinburg — Memo Paris Winter Palace Impression

Bergamot and lemon open it bright and cold. Maté and red tea take over the heart — grassy, a little smoky, like a pot left steeping — and benzoin, labdanum and Bourbon vanilla warm it into a soft amber finish. Fire and ice in one bottle.

Gatlinburg grew up around Radford Gatlin's general store, where a post office opened in 1856, and today it's the gateway town to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Aliénor Massenet composed Winter Palace for Memo Paris, which built the scent around China's imperial palaces and a cup of red tea.
