Gate City — Kilian Straight to Heaven, white cristal Impression

Rum opens it dark and boozy, with a little sweetness. Nutmeg and patchouli turn the heart warm and spicy, and cedar keeps the base dry and woody. It smells like a good bar with wood-paneled walls.

Gate City, the Scott County seat, was called Estillville until 1886, when it took its new name from its spot near Big Moccasin Gap, the gateway to the west. Sidonie Lancesseur created Straight to Heaven for Kilian in 2007.
