Roan High Bluff — Penhaligon's Endymion Impression

Moonlight on a shaving mirror. It opens the way a good barbershop does — lavender clipped sharp, sage, bergamot bright enough to wake you — and then, somewhere around the twenty-minute mark, it stops behaving. Coffee absolute rises through the geranium, dark and unsweetened, and the whole thing turns to leather, myrrh, and smoke. Cold weather suits it. So does midnight.
